Those old enough remember a time where smart phones didn't exist. We had Nokias (or none at all) and instead of instantly seeing a photo we relied of disposable cameras to take photos for us.

I haven't gotten over the feeling of getting a film developed and just waiting to see what is actually on it. Disposables, in most cases, come out so much better than iPhone photos. They don't show every single imperfection, they come out slightly fuzzy yet perfect.

It's literally the best thing. You go out with one, use it up and then drop it off. Most of the time I can't even remember what's on the camera but I feel that's part of the excitement to receiving back your photos. They tell a story of your night out (or several if you manage to make it stretch).

Don't just buy them from boots though, Amazon and eBay actually have better value Kodaks on their sites! Generally I manage to pick up 2 cameras, each with 36 photos (as long as they come out) for about £10-15. In Boots you tend to get one camera with maybe 20 shots for the same price.

Polaroids are also a great camera. Recently I've seen a rise in the amount of people taking these sort of shots. I used to take one with me to the pub (Pub Polaroids) and leave with only half the images. Everyone I would go to would want one of their own and i've started to collect a nice little fiorucci tin worth of polaroids!

Instant Films is the best place i've found to get the film for cheaper. They price check everywhere and try to sell it as the cheapest. Polaroid film is a lot more expensive than taking out a film camera, so personally I save the polaroid for more important occasions, like the pub. Pubs are important occasions always.

Prefer just taking out your smartphone? There's an app called Huji that mimics the photo effects of a disposable. You can take photos and instantly they'll be edited like they've been taken on a disposable camera, with light effects and even the date stamped in the bottom corner. Best thing is that it's free too! You can pay a tiny amount, however, which removes the ads and allows you to important photos on your phones and it instantly edits them with the film effects.
